Delete your Batchnook account
Which path you want depends on how you used Batchnook: buyers who ordered from a maker usually have no account at all, and makers have one in the app.
If you bought from a maker on Batchnook
You do not need an account to order, and most buyers do not have one — so there is usually nothing to sign into and no app to open. What we hold is the order: your name, one contact address, the delivery address you gave, and what you bought and when. You can ask us to erase it here, and the request runs immediately.
If you no longer have the order email
Nobody can prove an order to a machine without it, so this one goes to a person. Email [email protected] from the address you think you used, with whatever you remember about the order, and we will check who you are before we erase anything.
What stays, and for how long
Some of an order survives erasure and it is not our choice to make. Here is all of it, with the clock on each:
- 5 years from the order date
- The product-safety record for each order: the purchaser name and contact, what was bought, and the date. US product-safety rules require a seller to be able to reach buyers of a recalled item, so this is kept for five years from the order and is not removed on request.
- the life of the transaction record
- The order itself, with the contact and delivery details it was placed with. This is the transaction record behind tax, refunds and payment disputes; the copy of your details held for marketing and repeat-buyer purposes is what gets erased.
- indefinite, by design
- If you unsubscribed or reported an email, the record that you did. Deleting it would mean the next send finds nothing and emails you again, so it stays.
- 5 years
- Reports, complaints and moderation decisions. These are kept so a decision can be appealed and audited; they are held apart from anything the shops can read.
- indefinite
- Reviews you left stay on the shop, with nothing linking them to you. A review has never carried your name, and the link to your details is removed with them.
The privacy policy is the document that governs, and it states the same rule in full.
If a maker closes their shop
Your order record is yours as well as theirs. A maker closing their Batchnook account leaves your receipt and the safety record where they are, and it leaves your right to ask us to erase your own information exactly as it is. Ask us the same way.
If you sell on Batchnook
You can permanently delete your Batchnook account — and everything in it — from inside the app. Deletion removes your business data: materials, purchases, recipes, products, batches, orders, reports, and uploaded receipt photos and import files.
In the app
- Open More
- Under Your data, tap Delete account…
- Export your data first if you want a copy — the export is always free, on every plan
- Type the confirmation and confirm
What happens next
Your account is scheduled for permanent deletion after a 7-day grace window (so a mistake isn't forever) — just sign back in before the window ends and tap Restore my account. After the grace period, your content is permanently deleted, as described in the privacy policy; backups age out on a rolling schedule of no more than 30 additional days. Deleting your account cancels any active subscription. A few minimal records we must keep for legal, tax, or security purposes (e.g., invoices) are retained where the law requires.
Can't access the app?
Email [email protected] from the address on your account and we'll run the same deletion for you.
