For wholesale & production bakers

Know the margin on every tray, every week

You bake the same recipes on repeat for shelves, wholesale accounts, and standing orders. Batchnook costs each one from your supply receipts — and the moment flour or butter moves, every product's real margin moves with it, in front of you.

A home baker’s kitchen mid-morning: cooling racks of finished bakes across the counter, kraft boxes stacked ready and flour on the wood.

Making custom or event cakes?

Wedding tiers, birthday and celebration cakes, and made-to-order designs are a catering job — priced per order, quoted, and booked around a date. That's our sister app, CaterKit, built for exactly that. Batchnook is for the other kind of bakery — the same trays baked week after week — so if standing orders and wholesale are your business, you're in the right place.

Built for the way a production bakery actually runs

Receipts in, real costs out, and the margin on every SKU always current.

A recipe is a cost you can defend

Enter flour, butter, sugar, and the rest once with pack sizes; every loaf and every dozen prices itself. Costs come off your receipts and update by the moving-average method — so a product's cost is what you actually paid this month, not last year's guess.

Wholesale margins are thin — so watch them

Set a target margin on each product. When a butter receipt lands and your cost jumps, Batchnook shows you exactly which products slipped under target that day — before you quote the next wholesale run at last season's price.

Standing orders, tracked

Log “baked 6 dozen” and stock plus unit cost update at once. Record a wholesale order in a couple of taps and period COGS tracks itself. Batches and orders are never metered, on any plan — sell as much as you can bake.

What a dozen really earns you

Wholesale price is set by the account — so your margin lives or dies on cost. Try it on a typical dozen, then run it on your own numbers.

Ingredients per dozen

  • Flour, butter & sugar$1.05
  • Chocolate & mix-ins$0.95
  • Eggs, leavening & salt$0.25
  • Box & label$0.40
  • What one unit costs you$2.65

Typical 2026 numbers — a starting point, not a quote. In the app, these come off your receipts and update themselves.

This is the same margin Batchnook shows on every product — what's left after materials, as a share of price. Start free to run it on your own receipts, no card.

Start with a bakery pack, not a blank screen

New accounts can load a bakery starter pack — flour, butter, sugar, eggs and more, plus two costed recipes (a sourdough loaf and a batch of chocolate-chip cookies) — so you see the margin math working on day one, then swap in your own recipes. It fits the free plan as-is.

Start with the bakery pack

The long version of this arithmetic

A dozen costed from ingredients is the easy half. Pricing baked goods covers the three things that move the number afterwards: the weight dough loses in the oven, an oven that bills by the load rather than the loaf, and sell-through, which turns anything unsold inside its shelf life into a total loss. Moving your costs across from a spreadsheet or another tool is its own job, and switching costing tools without losing your numbers is the running order for it.

When you are ready to sell it

A storefront for your bakery, at your own address

Costing tells you what a tray should earn. A Batchnook shop is where it earns it: your own address online, a QR code for the table, and every sale landing in the same books you priced it from.
