Plans and fees

Know what you keep, before you sell a thing.

Two prices sit on this page and both are published: a flat monthly plan for the tools that keep your real costs and margins current, and one per-sale fee on orders your own Batchnook storefront takes. See what a storefront gives you, then read what a sale really costs further down, all in, ours and Stripe's together.

Batches and orders are never metered. Your data exports free on every tier. The price you see here is the price at checkout, and if it ever changes you hear it from us at least 30 days ahead, at your next renewal.

The only per-sale price is the Batchnook platform fee on orders your own Batchnook storefront processes — never on a sale you make anywhere else. It is charged on the order total, including shipping, at the rate your plan sets — see the table below.

Always included, every plan

  • Unlimited batches & orders — never metered on any tier
  • Marketplace fee presets & low-stock flags
  • Migration import — Stocksmith (formerly Craftybase), Ardent Seller, or a generic file
  • Export everything, free, on every tier, forever — JSON or CSV

Downgrading or canceling never deletes anything — your materials, products, batches, and cost history stay readable, and you can export all of it at any time. How billing works covers when a change takes effect, and what happens to your data on either side of one.

What a sale actually costs, in full

Two deductions come out of an order your Batchnook storefront takes. These are both of them, and the second one is the one nobody puts on a pricing page.

Stripe card processing2.9% + 30¢the same order totalStripe

2.9% + 30¢ is Stripe's own published rate for standard US cards, and you can read it at stripe.com/pricing. Buyers pay into your own Stripe account, so that one is paid between you and Stripe; we never touch it. Other card types carry Stripe's own rates, published in the same place.

The whole thing, added up

One $40 order paid by card: $34 of goods and $6 of shipping. Shipping is part of the base both deductions are taken from, so it is in the arithmetic rather than in a footnote.

Whole cents, computed from the published rates above. Sales you make anywhere else carry no Batchnook fee at all, so this table is about storefront orders and nothing else.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my price go up later?

Prices are flat and published on this page, existing customers get at least 30 days’ notice before a new price applies, and annual billing sets your rate for the full year. Other maker inventory tools have raised prices on their long-time customers overnight; Batchnook tells you first, every time.

Do you cap my orders or sales volume?

Never. Batches and orders are unlimited on every tier — we don’t meter your transactions, sales, or revenue. We meter receipt scans (our real cost), never your business’s growth. The only per-sale price is the Batchnook platform fee on orders your own Batchnook storefront processes — never on a sale you make anywhere else.

Do you take a cut of my sales?

Outside your Batchnook storefront — never. Your Etsy, Shopify, and market sales are yours alone; we never even see them. Orders through your own Batchnook storefront carry the Batchnook platform fee your plan sets — 5% on Free, 3% on Bench, 1.5% on Studio — charged on the order total, including shipping, and shown to you before you open the store. Your money is paid by the buyer straight into your own Stripe account; it never sits in a Batchnook balance.

What happens to my data if I leave?

You take all of it. Export everything — materials, products, batches, orders, and cost history — as JSON or CSV, free, on every tier, forever. Migration in and out, no lock-in either direction.

Are these numbers tax advice?

No — and we’ll never sell filing or compliance advice. Batchnook uses the average-cost method, disclosed on every report, so your numbers are tax-ready records your accountant can defend. They are computed from what you recorded: the purchases you captured and the orders you entered, so a report is exactly as complete as your records are.
